We finally saw a relatively decent rally in gold on Monday; prices were up by about $20/ounce at one point before paring their gains in half by the close. Silver rose .5% to finish at just over $16.60 an ounce, but platinum and palladium had a more spirited advance, tacking on roughly 2% each. We will have to see how platinum and palladium fare on Tuesday given that base metals had an abrupt reversal on Monday, as most complexes gave up massive gains to finish unchanged to modestly higher.
