Well, the long-awaited Federal Reserve policy statement came and went and did not seem to ruffle feathers one way or another. Officials remained ambiguous about raising rates in June, although they did seem to keep the two rate increases slated for 2016 intact. However, the Fed did not send any signals about when it would raise rates, emphasizing that the upward path would be gradual in light of lingering issues that remain of concern, namely, low inflation, slowing overseas economies and more recently, a potential British exit from the European Union.
