We had a very quiet day in precious metals on Tuesday --gold lost modest ground, although the rest of the group managed to eke out a slight gain. Within the group, palladium is faring the past and looking incredibly strong on the charts, but putting it aside, the rest of the metals are struggling. Contrast this to the nonferrous metals, where the group is moving from strength to strength on the back of increased optimism about US infrastructure spending, coupled with the positive impact of a buoyant Chinese real estate sector.
