In our weekend note, we alluded to the possibility that gold could fall back on Monday given that the heated rhetoric about North Korea coming out Washington was notably not being matched by any increase in military activity by either side. Silver and palladium both finished flat, but platinum lost more substantial ground, off some $18/ounce on the session.
